This is a training for those, who would like to know more about the concept of intercultural learning as a pedagogical approach for youth exchanges, activities within the volunteer service or within support measures in the framework of the YOUTH programme. Many youth leaders have already had significant intercultural experiences themselves but have difficulties to put intercultural learning as a planned and structured process into practice and into projects. This is where this training course comes in: starting from the experiences of the participants it actively deal with elements of this concept during the training course through experiential learning. It is focusing on aspects of social attitudes, modes of perception and the resulting behaviour, because they are determinant elements of any process of intercultural communication and interaction. The active involvement of participants is an integral part of the entire learning process. It also deal with conditions for intercultural learning and reflects on culture and cultural identity. It improves that competences what young people and youth workers need to develop to be intercultural competent.
