| ·100 pre-production cars came out from the Audi factory ·the 924 name was chosen by marketing reasons as the car's launch price was 23.400 DM (so under 24.000 DM) 1975: · heavily revising the interior from VW to Porsche standards (carpet changed, 911 high-backed seats installed)
| · centre console addition to feel a car as a grand tourer 1976: · production started with the 125 bhp 1984 ccm engine, 4 speed gearbox (9,9 secs) , no rear spoiler fitted
| 1977: · Porsche/Getrag 5 speed gearbox offered as an option (with race pattern, 9,6 secs)
| 1978: · entire bodyshelly was zinc-coated
| · electric mirrors are became optional extras (from the 911) · leather gaiter was fitted to the gear lever · leather seats became optional · wheels are available with glossy black centres with 205/60 tyres · start of production of the 170 bhp 924 Turbo (1984 ccm turbocharged, 5 speed, 7,8 secs) 1980: · Audi's fully syncronized 5 speed gearbox was fitted as standard to all 924s (regular and Turbo)
| · electrically operated and heated mirrors became standard · two-tone paints were introduced · series 2 Turbos arrived with 177 bhp (1984 ccm turbocharged, 5 speed, 7,7 secs) 1981: · Turbo's multi-spoke wheels are offered as option to the regular 924 with four-stud form
